Sri Lanka, July 16 -- Two SriLankan Airlines flights that departed from Katunayake Airport to Kuwait City and Dammam International Airport, circled the skies near the region for over an hour due to the sudden closure of airspace, following a tense military situation in the Middle East.

However, the pilots managed to land the aircraft safely at their respective destinations, and both flights returned to Katunayake Airport by the morning of July 15, stated Deepal Perera, Head of Corporate Communications for SriLankan Airlines.
