Srilanka, Oct. 11 -- Sri Lanka's Mayooran Kubherane captured the Boys' Singles title at the ATF Under-16 C2 Colombo Week 1 Tournament, defeating compatriot Ashlin de Silva in an all-Sri Lankan final at the SLTA courts in Colombo yesterday.
Top-seeded Kubherane produced another strong performance to overcome second seed and Sri Lanka's top-ranked Under-16 player, Ashlin de Silva, 6-4, 3-0, before Ashlin was forced to retire due to injury.
Just a day earlier, the two schoolboys from St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya, had joined forces to win the Boys' Doubles title, continuing their impressive form on home soil.
