Sri Lanka, July 28 -- Making Sri Lanka's urban and intercity passenger transport system a more efficient, integrated, and user-friendly system is a primary objective of the government. To achieve this, Multi-Modal Transport Hubs have been identified as a solution to create efficient transfers and inter-connectivity between buses, trains, taxis, and other modes of transport.

The Makumbura and Kadawatha multi-modal transport hubs are currently operational, while construction work on the Anuradhapura (South) and Kandy multi-modal transport hubs is underway.
