Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- Tourism Deputy Minister Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe said action would be taken to promote historically important shipwrecks off the coast of Sri Lanka as a major tourist attraction.
He also pointed out that several notable shipwrecks, including what is believed to be the world's first purpose-built aircraft carrier, is located off the east coast of Sri Lanka.
The Deputy Minister made this statement while addressing a media briefing in Colombo.
