Sri Lanka, July 13 -- The development of local fabric manufacturing is expected to significantly enhance Sri Lanka's apparel industry's competitiveness by reducing import dependence, increasing value addition and attracting high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI), Board of Investment (BOI) Director General Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena said during a visit to the Eravur Fabric Park.

Inspecting the facilities of Jay Jay Mills, the park's pioneering anchor investor, Dr. Jayawardena observed the company's advanced water purification and effluent treatment systems, describing the project as a model for sustainable industrial development.
