Sri Lanka, June 23 -- The Head of the Gampaha District Office of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) Udaya Namalgama, stated that legal action is being taken against a supermarket in the Kelaniya area that sold extremely low-quality sanitary napkins and against a well-known manufacturing company based in Ja-Ela that produced them. He said the case is expected to be filed before the Mahara Magistrate's Court on a future date.

According to a complaint received by the Gampaha office of the Consumer Affairs Authority, sanitary napkins sold under a well-known brand name were of very poor quality and caused allergic reactions when used.
