Sri Lanka, June 11 -- Sri Lanka's footballers will receive a cash bonus of Rs. 5 million after their impressive 4-1 victory over Bhutan, as the national team continues its remarkable rise in world football rankings.

The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) has decided to award the bonus to the squad following the FIFA international friendly win. FFSL President Jaswar Umar said the money will be shared among the 23 players and 10 members of the coaching and support staff.

The victory over Bhutan has further boosted Sri Lanka's progress on the FIFA World Ranking. Following the win, Sri Lanka climbed four places to 187th in the latest rankings released yesterday, while Bhutan dropped six places.
