Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- Considering the rising debates on the need for work-life balance in the fast-paced and digital world we live in, Kerala plans to set its new Right to Disconnect Bill 2025 to help private sector workers manage their workload better. The new bill gives private-sector employees the right to disconnect after work hours, reports suggest. This means workers can choose not to attend online meetings, calls, emails, video conferences, or messages once their official workday ends, as defined in their company agreement.

Importantly, the bill also ensures that employees won't face any disciplinary action- such as demotion, dismissal, or penalties- for choosing to log off after hours.
