Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- Sri Lanka created history in Asian junior golf when Kaya Daluwatte, the nation's 16-year-old Asian Youth Games bronze medalist, clinched the 2025 Singha Thailand Junior World Golf Championship with a stunning final-round performance at the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.

Battling through challenging weather that forced the tournament to be shortened by one round, Kaya showed nerves of steel and exceptional technical skill to fire a brilliant three-under-par (69) in the final round. Her total of 215 (1), with earlier rounds of 71 and 75, earned her a two-shot victory over Japan's Rinka Nakayama, marking one of the greatest victories in Sri Lanka's junior golf history.
