Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Sri Lanka's current amateur champion, Jevahn Sathasivam of Royal Colombo Golf Club, made a flying start to the Kandy Regional Junior Open Golf Championship 2025 by finishing on top of the Gold Division leaderboard with a score of 71, the best score of the day, after the first round at the Victoria Golf Resort in Digana, Kandy yesterday.

Close behind him was Colombo's top ranked junior Reshan Algama with 73, while Adithya Weerasinghe of Ananda College and Jacob Norton of Colombo tied on 74 for third place.

In the Girls' Gold Division, Colombo's Keya Abhayaratne took charge with a steady 88, staying just ahead of Kandy's Anumi Karunathilake (91) and Lorance Sithara Dedunu (92).
