Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- The Government has focused its attention in declaring the historic Jathika Namal Uyana a national heritage, as a result of a request made by founder creator of Jathika Namal Uyana (Ironwood Park) Ven. Wanawasi (forest living) Rahula Thera to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Jathika Namal Uyana is situated seven kilometres away from Madatugama Junction of Anuradhapura - Colombo highway in Anuradhapura district. It's also the largest Na-tree forest and pink quartz mountain in Asia. It is learnt that the Ironwood free is endemic to Sri Lanka and the replanted forest is over 260 acres in extent.
