Sri Lanka, April 21 -- The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama yesterday (20) that the suspect named Ishara Sewwandi, who was arrested and detained for questioning in connection with the assassination of Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, alias 'Ganemulle Sanjeeva', will be detained for a further 30 days.

The assassination took place on the morning of February 19, 2025, inside Magistrate Courtroom No. 05 of the Hulftsdorp Court Complex in Colombo.

Filing a further report on the incident, the CCD stated they had obtained a detention order for an additional 30 days to continue questioning the suspect.
