Sri Lanka, Dec. 26 -- The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has successfully achieved its annual revenue target of Rs. 2,203 billion, a goal originally set for the end of 2025, as of December 19.

Inland Revenue Commissioner General Rukdevi Fernando announced that the Department had surpassed the Government's Rs. 2,203 billion annual revenue target last Friday (19). Fernando stated that this figure represents the highest tax revenue ever recorded in the history of the Inland Revenue Department. She also noted that efforts are underway to further increase this amount in the coming days.
