Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Postal Department has taken steps to revise the postal rates from today (9).

Accordingly, the Postal Department has taken steps to revise the minimum postal rate to Rs.70 and the new rates are effective from today, the Postal Department states.

This was stated in a statement issued by the Postmaster General W.M.R. Sathkumara.

The base weight category for ordinary and business letter service has been revised from 20 to 30 grams and the maximum price of a leaflet or set of leaflets has also been revised from 100 grams to 120 grams.
