Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Leader of the House Minister Bimal Ratnayake informed Parliament that the Government is holding diplomatic level talks regarding the report issued by the United Nations on the 22nd Constitutional Amendment to increase the retirement age of judges.
At the same time, he stated that the report issued by the UN only mentions the 'Supreme Court' and does not mention anything about other Courts.
Addressing the House during the debate on regulations under the Export and Import Control Act held in Parliament yesterday (18), he said that the Opposition Leader is speaking out for thieves who are in prison and is engaging in negotiations with them.
