Sri Lanka, Feb. 28 -- SriLankan Airlines has announced the immediate cancellation of several key flights to and from the Middle East today, citing the closure of regional airspace due to escalating military tensions.

The national carrier confirmed that flights connecting Colombo with Riyadh, Kuwait, Dammam, Dubai, and Doha have been grounded to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers and crew.

Affected Flight Routes (February 28, 2026): Departures from Colombo: UL265 (Riyadh), UL229 (Kuwait), UL253 (Dammam), UL225 (Dubai), and UL217 (Doha). Arrivals to Colombo: UL230 (Kuwait), UL266 (Riyadh), UL254 (Dammam), UL226 (Dubai), and UL218 (Doha).
