Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Sigiriya Police stated yesterday that a 68-year-old Hungarian national died after being attacked by a wild elephant while visiting Sigiriya.

Sigiriya Police OIC Chief Inspector Pradeep Siriwardena stated that the victim, travelling from Pidurangala to Sigiriya with his wife, was attacked by an elephant. While the foreign national sustained fatal injuries, his wife managed to escape narrowly.
Police sources confirmed that the tourist had passed away by the time he reached the hospital.
