Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Sri Lankan medical experts have warned that due to the prevailing hot weather conditions in the country as a result of EL Nino, parents and school teachers should encourage children to refrain from engaging in sports and outdoor activities since it could lead to dehydration and other complications.

Consultant Pediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera explained how dehydration occurs when a person does not consume adequate water or fluids.

He said not only children but everybody should drink water regularly to avoid serious health conditions, especially because of the current hot weather.
