Sri Lanka, June 11 -- Authorities have found that there is a high mosquito breeding risk in 44.7 percent of schools and 40.4 percent of Government institutions in the country.

This has been revealed while evaluating data gathered during the three-day special National Dengue Mosquito Control Programme conducted by the Health and Mass Media Ministry which ended yesterday.

The National Dengue Control Unit of the Health and Mass Media Ministry said a total of 31,155 premises, including houses, schools and factories were inspected yesterday.

Out of the inspected locations, 8,069 premises were identified as having a high risk of mosquito breeding. The presence of mosquito larvae was confirmed in 1,864 premises.
