Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- The annual Elders Walk conducted by HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL) to coincide with the International Day of Older Persons was held opposite Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.Sri Lanka Developers

Several members of elders' societies in the area including the members of Kandy Gangawata Koralaya Divisional Elders Federation participated. The walk commenced from the Kandy Lake premises near Dalada Maligawa and ended at Senkadagala Buddhist Centre Hall.

The elders paraded the streets around the Kandy Lake holding placards mentioning the rights of elders. The main event was held at the Senkadagala Bauddha Mandapaya Hall and elders also participated in cultural and entertaining programmes.
