Sri Lanka, Oct. 21 -- Heavy traffic congestion has been reported along several roads in Colombo this morning due to heavy rainfall.

According to the Department of Meteorology, showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northwestern, Southern, and Northern provinces.

The Department further noted that the prevailing low-level atmospheric disturbance over the island's eastern region is likely to persist in the coming days.
