Srilanka, July 16 -- The Colombo High Court has adjourned the hearing of the case filed against three defendants accused of attempting to assassinate then Army Commander Sarath Fonseka in a 2006 suicide bombing at the Colombo Army Headquarters.
The case, filed by the Attorney General under 27 charges related to the Prevention of Terrorism Act and Emergency Law Regulations, alleges that the suspects conspired to carry out the suicide attack on April 25, 2006.
When the case was taken up today (July 16) before High Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne, the scheduled witness failed to appear. In response, Deputy Solicitor General Lakmali Karunanayake requested a new date to continue the examination of evidence.
