Health Minister Nalinda calls for dignified lives for childhood cancer survivors at WHA79 in Geneva
Sri Lanka, May 19 -- Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has called for ensuring dignified, healthy and fulfilling lives for children who survive cancer, stressing that the true measure of success in childhood cancer care is not only survival, but long-term quality of life.
He made the remarks while addressing a parallel session on "Childhood Cancer Survivorship" at the 79th World Health Assembly (WHA79) in Geneva, held under the theme "Measuring survival, driving change - Advancing equity through the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer."
