Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- Minister of Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament today (21) that the government will go ahead with the implementation of the fingerprint machine at the Central Mail Exchange, despite ongoing trade union action.
He said several postal trade unions affiliated with opposition parties have resorted to strike action to disrupt the work of the Postal Department. The Postmaster General has urged all employees to report to duty immediately, assuring that any issues raised could be resolved through discussion.
