SriLanka, Sept. 30 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa called on the Government to immediately grant clearances and approvals for solar power projects, particularly rooftop solar projects without falling under the influence of the fuel and energy mafia.

Addressing a media briefing, the Opposition Leader urged the Government to stop misleading the public and expedite the approval process.

Premadasa alleged that the Government, which advocated 100 percent renewable energy while in the Opposition, was now undermining solar and other renewable energy projects in favour of fuel-based power generation.
