Sri Lanka, Jan. 7 -- Deputy Labour Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe said in Parliament yesterday (06), that the Government has paid special attention to implement a system where private sector and semi-government employees can receive their Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) payments as a pension scheme throughout their lifetime after retirement instead of receiving a lump sum payment in one go.

The Deputy Minister said unlike the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF) and its several benefits offered for different purposes to employees, the EPF has been introduced for the social security of the employees after retirement.
