Sri Lanka, July 11 -- The 2026 Higher Ordination ceremony of the Mahaviharavamsika Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya was held at the Kalutara Bodhiya, with the participation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Thursday (9).

The Higher Vinaya Ordination ceremony will be held from Thursday (9) until July 22 at the Udakukkhepa Sima Malaka established on the Kalu Ganga in Kalutara. More than 400 samanera (novice) monks are expected to participate.
