Sri Lanka, June 24 -- Moragahahena Police said that a robbery was reported at the Co-operative Rural Bank located at Koralaima Junction on the Horana - Colombo main road yesterday morning.

Investigations have revealed that the bank housed two safes and around 20 drawers containing gold jewellery valued at nearly Rs. 80 million. Police stated that all the gold jewellery stored in one of the drawers had been stolen during the incident. The robbery is believed to have taken place between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. with four individuals suspected of being involved.
