Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland starred with the bat as unbeaten Australia recorded a convincing six-wicket win over Ashes rivals England in their ICC Women's World Cup fixture played in Indore on Wednesday.

Playing without skipper Alyssa Healy, who missed out due to a calf injury, the defending champions restricted England to 244 for 9, with fast bowler Sutherland claiming three wickets.

Sutherland then produced a brilliant all-round performance, scoring 98 runs and sharing an unbeaten fifth-wicket stand of 180 with Gardner, who remained unbeaten on 104.
