Sri Lanka, April 6 -- The All-Island Canteen and Restaurant Owners' Association has announced a price increase of Rs. 20 for fried rice, kottu, and rice and curry packets, effective from midnight today (06).

According to the Association, this decision was taken in response to the recent significant increase in LP gas prices. However, they also noted that, due to a reduction in coconut oil prices, the prices of short eats have been decreased by Rs. 10.

Meanwhile, with effect from midnight yesterday (05), LP gas prices were raised substantially. The price of a 12.5 kg Laughs gas cylinder increased by Rs. 1,070, bringing the new price to Rs. 5,700, while the price of a Litro gas cylinder rose by Rs. 775, setting the new price at Rs. 4,765....
