Sri Lanka, April 27 -- The Sri Lanka Railways Department has announced that the "Sagarika" train, which derailed earlier this week, will resume normal operations from today (27).Sri Lanka Tourism

Superintendent of Railway Operations Asanka Samarasinghe stated that the train has been reinstated to its regular schedule following the incident.

The derailment occurred on April 24, when the Maradana-bound Sagarika express, travelling from Beliatta, went off the tracks at Wadduwa Railway Station. Of the 13 carriages, 11 were reported to have derailed.

Meanwhile, four railway staff members who were on duty at the time of the incident have been temporarily removed from operational duties pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation. Those i...
