Sri Lanka, May 4 -- The Government has announced plans to establish a specialised group of 400 senior public officials known as the 'Public-Impact Champions Network' (PIC-Net) to drive digital transformation within Sri Lanka's public sector.Sri Lankan History

Under this initiative, 'Digital Champions' will be recruited from 95 Government offices, including ministries, state-owned enterprises, and provincial councils. According to a directive issued by President's Secretary N. S. Kumanayake, the PIC-Net team will serve as the central force in implementing digitalisation efforts within state institutions, a key component of the Cabinet-approved Digital Economy Plan.
