Sri Lanka, July 23 -- Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena yesterday (22) ordered the release of former Navy Commander Ravindra Wijegunaratne on strict bail conditions. He had been charged with aiding and abetting

the disappearance of Naval Officer Chandana Prasada Hettiarachchi, a suspect in the 2009 disappearance of 11 young men living in Colombo and its suburbs, to go abroad into hiding, failing to provide information, obstructing investigating officers and threatening the second suspect. The Magistrate ordered the release of the third suspect, Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who appeared before the court yesterday, in accordance with the Court notice, on two sureties of Rs.1 million each.
