Sri Lanka, Jan. 10 -- A foreign tourist child was rescued today (10) after falling from a steep cliff at the popular Little Adam's Peak tourist attraction, authorities confirmed.

The child reportedly fell nearly 100 feet while attempting to take a selfie near the edge of the cliff.

Following the incident, the Flying Ravana Adventure Park's first responder rope rescue team was immediately deployed to the location and carried out an emergency rescue operation.

Despite the challenging terrain, rescuers successfully reached the child and brought her to safety.

Witnesses said the child's mother was visibly emotional and expressed immense relief after her daughter was rescued without serious harm.
