Sri Lanka, May 29 -- Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath who is on an official visit to New Zealand on Monday evening called on his New Zealand counterpart Winston Peters and discussed bilateral issues including politics, trade and sports.

Minister Herath in a tweet said that the two sides exchanged views regarding the current global and regional developments and their impact.

"Minister Peters and I had a very constructive discussion on a variety of bilateral matters such as political, trade, sports, governance and the dynamic Sri Lankan community in New Zealand. We also exchanged views regarding the current global and regional developments and their impact," Minister Herath in a post on X stated.
