Sri Lanka, July 13 -- A tourist resort under construction in the Kandekumbura area, within the Ella Divisional Secretariat, was completely destroyed by a fire, police confirmed.

According to reports, the blaze spread rapidly due to prevailing dry weather conditions and strong winds, quickly engulfing the site and leading to total destruction. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from the Bandarawela Fire Department, along with the police and forest conservation officers, worked together to bring the flames under control.

Ella Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
