Sri Lanka, June 22 -- The Government will treat the issues faced by families of missing persons as a national priority and take steps to address them on an urgent basis, said Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister, Ramalingam Chandrasekar.

The Minister made these remarks while addressing the Media following a discussion held at the Jaffna District Secretariat between representatives of civil society organisations in Jaffna and officials of the Office on Missing Persons (OMP). The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice and National Integration, Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, and Minister Chandrasekar.
