Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- Showers will occur at times today (12) in the Central, Uva, Eastern and North-central provinces and in the Hambantota district, the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is expected at some locations in the Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Badulla and Polonnaruwa districts. Several spells of showers are also forecast in the Northern province.

Showers or thundershowers are likely at several places in other parts of the country after 2.00 p.m., with fairly heavy falls above 50 mm possible in some areas.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. ...
