Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The influence of the low-level atmospheric disturbance affecting Sri Lanka is expected to gradually decrease as the system moves away from the island, according to the Department of Meteorology.Sri Lanka Tourism

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces today(16), with fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm likely at some places.

Showers or thundershowers are also expected at several places in the Uva, Eastern and North Central provinces and in the Mullaittivu District after 1.00 p.m.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
