Sri Lanka, April 13 -- Showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (13), the Department of Meteorology said.

Morning showers are also expected in some areas of the Western, Southern and Eastern provinces.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-Western provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the day.

The general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
