Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter stated that extending the retirement age of judges is not an issue, provided it is done in a general manner without targetting any specific individual or sector.

The Mahanayake Thera added that it is important to extend this to other essential sectors as well, rather than limiting it solely to the judiciary.

The Mahanayake Thera made these remarks yesterday (3) when Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa and Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara visited the Malwatte Maha Viharaya to pay their respects and receive blessings.
