Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- The European Union has allocated more than 2.35 million in humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka in response to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Ditwah.Ceylon Exports information
The assistance includes 500,000 provided through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and 1.85 million channelled through the EU's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) partners, the World Food Programme (WFP) and UNICEF.
In addition to the financial support, the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), which comprises 37 participating states including all 27 EU member states and several partner countries, is providing in-kind assistance to Sri Lanka. As...
