Sri Lanka, June 17 -- The Government has decided to appoint a Senior Official's Committee to examine the feasibility of integrating the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF) under a unified governance framework overseen by a tripartite board representing the Government, employers and employees, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced.

Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing yesterday (16), Dr. Jayatissa said the separate administrative and regulatory structures governing the two funds have led to overlapping functions and a fragmented policy approach.
