Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- Sri Lanka Railways will launch a new train service named the "ELLA WEEKEND EXPRESS" starting next Saturday (16) to promote tourism and provide long-distance travel options during weekends.

This train aims to meet the growing demand from both local travelers and foreign tourists wishing to travel from Colombo to Badulla while enjoying Sri Lanka's natural beauty.

The "ELLA WEEKEND EXPRESS" is scheduled to depart from Colombo Fort to Badulla every Saturday at 5:30 a.m., beginning on August 16, 2025.

The return journey from Badulla Railway Station to Colombo Fort will run every Sunday at 1:45 p.m., starting on August 17, 2025.
