Sri Lanka, July 18 -- The Railway Department, in collaboration with the Central Cultural Fund, is set to launch a new initiative to boost tourism at the iconic Ella Demodara Nine-Arch Bridge and its surroundings.

As part of the program, electric lighting will be installed around the bridge area to allow tourists to experience the site at night. The initiative is scheduled to begin in August.

Speaking on the project, Railways General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara stated that once enhancements are complete, a small fee will be introduced for visitors, with reduced rates for local tourists.
