Sri Lanka, June 22 -- The Health and Mass Media Ministry is providing 11 advanced CT scanners worth Rs. 1.95 billion to hospitals across the country as part of a programme to strengthen diagnostic services for strokes, cancers, heart disease, vascular diseases, accident-related injuries and emergency care.

The programme, implemented under the guidance of Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, aims to modernise hospital diagnostic services and give patients faster access to accurate medical investigations. Expansion and modernisation of Computed Tomography (CT) scanner services in hospitals across the country is a priority of this initiative.
