Sri Lanka, April 29 -- A high-level discussion on modernising railway services in the Colombo suburban area was held this morning (29) at the Presidential Secretariat, chaired by Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the Colombo Suburban Railway Project, with particular attention given to the introduction of electric train services in its first phase. Under these plans, electric trains are expected to operate along the Kelani Valley Line from Maradana to Makumbura, the Main Line from Colombo Fort to Ragama, and the Coastal Line from Colombo Fort to Panadura.
