Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala stated in Parliament that the area where lawyer Buddhika Mallawarachchi and his wife were killed in the recent shooting that took place in Akuregoda, Thalangama is not a high-security zone.
The Minister emphasised that this is an isolated incident and has no impact on national security, public safety and maintenance of peace in the country.
The Minister pointed out that isolated incidents occurring in one place after another in the country do not affect national security and that efforts to suppress the underworld and drugs are being successfully carried out.
