Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- A woman doctor who was driving a car with fake number plates has been arrested by the Kandy Police Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau.

According to Police, the 48-year-old female doctor, a resident of Sri Sumangala Mawatha, in Kandy has been arrested on suspicion yesterday (4) by a team of Police officers of the Kandy Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau during a surprise search operation carried out at Sumangala Mawatha area, Wariyapola in Kandy following a telephone call received by the Police Emergency Call Unit.

The arrested doctor has informed Police that the ownership of the car is under her husband who is also a doctor.
