Sri Lanka, May 13 -- The State Vesak Festival of the Buddha Era 2570 will be held on May 27 at the Midellawala Purana Viharaya in Thihagoda, Matara. A discussion on the preliminary organisational arrangements for the festival was held at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday (11) with the participation of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnethth and President's Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
The 'Dakshina Prabha' National Vesak Festival will be held under the theme 'Abhiththaretha Kalyane' from May 27 to June 1 in the areas around the city of Matara and the Midellawala Temple in Thihagoda.
